Thurgau, known as the \u201cApple Canton,\u201d inspired the festival\u2019s name. Initially aimed at promoting the acceptance and emancipation of homosexuality through cultural activities, the festival debuted in 1998.<\/p>\n<p>Following the success of the lesbian and gay Eurogames in Zurich in 2000, Pink Apple expanded to the city. Over the years, Pink Apple has grown, becoming Switzerland\u2019s largest LGBTQ+ film festival. It now presents approximately 120 films from around the world, including features, documentaries, and shorts.
